The Karma Bunny is not mine – I simply write about him on behalf of my cousin, the youthful Michael Aitken – but all need to heed the warning.

With the Karma Bunny if you’re bad then you’ll be found out in the end. The full circle of karmic retribution will come back to bite. Sort of like Santa Claus in that he is looking over you at all times but …..

There are subtle differences with Santa though. Where Santa will simply stop your presents once a year, the karma bunny will mess with you when you least expect it.

He’s here, he’s there …. and he simply tasked with retribution against your bad actions.

Please, please watch out, take care & be good – The last person you want to mess with is the Karma Bunny.

I woke yesterday afternoon at about five after surgery with a gaggle of nurses showing me photos of shark teeth imprints on my left ankle.

Little idiot me thought that I done myself an injury on the tennis court. The slip had simply opened up a bite wound from surfing a couple of weeks before. Coming down into the barrel I had felt a little pain in my leg, but when you are carving at that speed it is very hard to look back and reflect.

The lesson has to be that tennis is in fact dangerous but it’s the sharks that will get you in the end. More morphine sister.

As my granny always said “Think not what the shark can do for you – think solely of what you can do to help the shark.”

The pilot – Chris – is a Cape Town boy whose love of helicopters came from his days working in medical emergencies and being first on the scene. Invented the Leatt Brace and has since notched up a load of hours in his own bird.

We left from Cape Town international and flew down to Cape Point – 2nd most southerly point in Africa after Cape Agulhas. The video was taken as we were crossing Noordhoek Beach.

We took a weekend away to pre-celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary this weekend – timed this way as we had babysitters on call at this time.

About two hours out of Cape Town is a small town called Stanford which we had visited before with the children (just when we had arrived. A really small town with a lot of heart, second hand shops and a great restaurant called Marianna’s – which I would rate in my top ten restaurants that I have eaten at.

Pottered around there for the afternoon and then went on to a hotel between Gansbaai and Stanford called Grootbos which is located in the rolling hills looking over Walker Bay. Hotel was typical fare but had a strong environmental message behind it as the owner had integrated bio-conservation into the very heart of what they did. Training for local people on how to use Fynbos and how to make a living from the land.

We had a great time going down onto the virgin beaches of Walker Bay and just taking some time away from everyone and everything.

Tenth wedding anniversary is on 16th August 2013 but best that it was done now, as it falls in the middle of the two months that have been laid aside to celebrate forty years of my wife being on this planet.

The love we feel for our wives/children can become more conceptual than immediate when faced with long car journeys, flights and Sunday afternoons. Unless we sit back and take time to reflect.

We took a week off and after a car journey from hell ended up in the coastal resort of Plettenberg Bay. Love rekindled, batteries recharged and time to finally get back to the creation of post dinner artforms.

The creation below is we think more a sculpture than a classic post dinner artform and was the result of an entire meal enjoyed over a game of Bao (Tanzanian Mancala). Ingredients were a gloriously tangy Prawn Marie Rose (given a poncy title on the menu), a Western Cape inspired chicken curry and a side salad (explaining the presence of salad tongs).
